The office space is designed to reflect Boston’s city grid and different aspects of the city that create a balance between contrasting spaces. The inner workings of the office have intricate layers that can be compared to the intricacy of the city grid and the pulse of the city is the factor that unites the city together. Boston, a highly gridded city, fabricated a space promoting inclusion and diversity through the redesigning of Seaport. In the same way, NEXT’s office implements curves in its layout to soften harsh edges and create a fixed to fluid environment. Just as the city of Boston offers so many opportunities for people to find a place they feel a sense of belonging and comfort, NEXT’s office will do the same to create inclusive environments. Connecting spaces with curves and minimal barriers drives ME + WE principles and allows for a smooth flow of circulation and opportunities to collaborate.
